Madar, "مدار" inspired by the Arabic term for Orbit, embodies an adaptable and shape-shifting cultural studio rooted in nomadic and oscillating initiatives, collaboratively crafting cultural ecosystems. Much like a celestial body in orbit, Madar charts its course guided by core principles of solidarity, cooperation, and integrative methodologies. Its community ties act as a gravitational force, ensuring a grounded and enduring presence.

This mission serves as a centripetal force, directing efforts and maintaining a purposeful trajectory. Within Madar's studio, varied elements—artistic, social, ecological, and political—harmoniously intertwine, fostering a balanced dynamism. The studio's trajectory, shaped by a rich history, incubates different initiatives, resembling perpetual, evolving circular paths that attain new dimensions.

Committed to challenging rigid institutional norms, Madar advocates for equitable representation in culture. Through participatory and collective projects, we unite artistic and creative talents to orbit around central causes, thinking cosmically beyond the confines of rigid contexts or systems.

In this expansive cultural universe, Madar envisions varied orbits coexisting, weaving a tapestry of interconnected worlds where multiple cultural landscapes unfold.

Transdisciplinary Design Methodologies

Engagements

Madar's services are the culmination of years of advocacy, involves reclaiming the design practice and challenging its dominant application geared towards excessive production and consumerism. Instead, Madar introduces it as a twofold practice:

(1)   a profession serving as a primary source of livelihood—existing conjunctly and interdependently with craft, making and skill based practices, centered around labor.

(2) a scientific practice deeply rooted in research approaches introducing design as not only a creative expression but also a knowledge-based practice.

With unlimited potential as a transdisciplinary praxis, Madar's design practice exchanges with other disciplines, uniting discoveries, skills, and know-hows to analyze and solve issues in depth.
